Arts University Bournemouth is committed to a policy of Equality and Inclusivity and welcomes applications from suitably qualified people from all sections of the community.

THe post

Arts University Bournemouth is the leading professional arts university dedicated to creative education and career success. Offering courses in art, design, architecture, media and performance, we are passionate about our specialist subjects and dedicated both to education and the creative industries which we serve.

Applications are invited for the above post to contribute to our BA (Hons) Commercial Photography course. The course provides a student centred learning environment where bold and innovative approaches to the broad study of creatively focused commercial photography aim to challenge existing boundaries of contemporary photographic practice.

The post holder will be enthusiastic and well informed about the broad area of specialist and contemporary practices within photography, though having specific working knowledge of fashion photography, including practical photographic studio ability and an awareness of contemporary contexts and debates.

You will also be flexible in your approach to photographic education and open to development and training within the discipline.

The successful candidate will be capable of managing the effective learning of students through Unit Leadership, devising briefs, delivering inspiring lectures, seminars and workshops, and active involvement in the assessment process.

You will have relevant photographic experience in Higher Education and hold a Master’s Degree level qualification. You will also hold a teaching qualification or Higher Education Academy (HEA) Fellowship Membership or be willing to work towards gaining these qualifications within two years of being recruited to the post.

This position seeks to appoint someone who can enhance the ethos of excellence both on the course and at the Arts University.
