THe post

Arts University Bournemouth is the leading professional arts university dedicated to creative education and career success. Offering courses in art, design, architecture, media and performance, we are passionate about our specialist subjects and dedicated both to education and the creative industries which we serve.

With a history spanning over 50 years, Bournemouth Film School (BFS) sits at the heart of Arts University Bournemouth and brings together the disciplines of film production, animation and VFX. The BA (Hons) Film Production and MA Film courses are modelled on the contemporary film industry and contextualised by a philosophy of practical learning in an academic environment. The courses have important links with the BA (Hons) VFX course and have well established collaborations with courses in Costume, Make-up and Acting.

The Bournemouth Film School at AUB is looking for a practitioner with general film production skills and experience to teach primarily on our vibrant and established BA (Hons) Film Production course and occasionally on our MA Film Practice course. The post is advertised as both Lecturer and Senior Lecturer level. However, we are only recruiting to one post and the level of appointment will depend on the successful candidate’s qualifications, knowledge, skills and experience. For the specific qualifications, knowledge, skills and experience in relation to the two levels of post please refer to the relevant job description and person specification attached.

The successful applicant will have a track record in film production and significant experience teaching across the specialisms. We are looking for someone with experience of supervising student productions and leading academic units. You will also be a strong and effective communicator, sharing our passion for all aspects of production and education.

The successful candidate will hold a Masters level qualification in a relevant subject and hold a teaching qualification or Higher Education Academy (HEA) Membership.
